Afternoon Pickup Information:
Thank you for your patience as we all adjust to the new traffic pattern. To help alleviate congestion in the afternoons, we kindly ask that everyone turn right when exiting McCollum onto Porter Street. Left turns are significantly slowing down the flow of traffic, causing delays for all drivers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep traffic moving smoothly.
Please remember, Panther Drive is still accessible, and there is a turn-around available at the gym. If possible, we also recommend waiting until 3:20 PM to pick up your student. By this time, all buses will be off-campus, and the front loop, Panther Drive, and McCollum will be fully accessible, allowing you to safely and efficiently pick up your student.
Thank you for your continued cooperation!

Good morning Seniors!

Important Message regarding afternoon dismissal.
When you return to campus, you’ll notice a large electronic sign indicating that Panther Drive is no longer a through-road. Here are some important updates for pick-up and drop-off:
Afternoon Pick-Up:
* McCollum Drive is now the recommended pick-up route for parents.
* The front drive will remain off-limits until buses have left the campus (around 3:20 PM).
* Panther Drive will be open for pick-up, but you must keep moving. No stopping or blocking traffic to wait for your student. (There is a turn around for you to use just before the gym)
* Your student should not plan to meet their ride at the gym. Instead, they will be picked up in the back of the Media Center or at the crosswalk in front of the English building, after you’ve used the turn-around.
* If you’re arriving after 3:20 PM, the front loop is your best option.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adjust to our new traffic patterns. Our goal is to ensure everyone gets in and out safely. Thank you for helping us make this transition smoother! 👏

Hello everyone,
The 2025-2026 FAFSA is open, and we are excited to help all college-bound students complete it. We are excited to help all students on their pathway!
On January 29th, we will be hosting another FAFSA Day at Franklin High School in the Media Center Computer Lab! You or parent/guardian(s) can sign up for a time slot so that both you, and them, can complete the full form together.
The form is estimated to only take an hour to complete. There are 15 slots available for each session and it is recommended that whoever is considered a "parent contributor" be there as they will need to sign their portion before the student can submit. Mrs. Ensley, a financial aid representative from SCC and WCU, as well as myself will work alongside everyone to complete this process.
We will be hosting more FAFSA Days in February as well! For those dates, a financial aid advisor from WCU, SCC, as well as our CFNC regional representative will be there!. If you need an interpreter to help complete it, and can't attend these dates, please let me know and we can do so in a one-on-one meeting with Mrs. Navarro!
There are a few steps that need to be completed, such as creating an FSA ID, as well as a list of materials to bring below. FSA IDs NEED TO BE CREATED AT LEAST 5 DAYS BEFORE! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need help with these steps!
If you cannot attend these events, or do not feel comfortable meeting within a group setting, there is always the opportunity to schedule a meeting with me to complete it as well!
I hope you had a restful break,
--
Becka Dulaney
