MEETING NOTIFICATION:

The Macon County Board of Education will hold their Regular Scheduled Meeting on Monday, August 18, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm in the board room of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices, located at 1202 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC.

The meeting will be live-streamed and can be accessed by visiting www.macon.k12.nc.us

MEETING NOTIFICATION:

The Macon County Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Room of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the 2025-2026 budget and prioritize capital outlay items. Other items may be discussed and action taken as needed.

2025-2026 Open House/Orientation Schedules:

The Macon County Board of Education meeting previously scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025 has been cancelled.

The Macon County Board of Education will not meet the month of July.

The next regular scheduled Board of Education meeting will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm in the board room of the Macon County Schools Administrative Offices, 1202 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC. Mr. Larry Pickens has spent this week in Atlanta at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. Mr. Pickens is serving on the National Education Team and is in charge of overseeing the SkillsUSA National Firefighting Competition for 38 competitors. The firefighting competition consists of an interview process, door breaching, rope tying, and indoor and outdoor skills courses. Thank you, Mr. Pickens, for representing FHS and the state of North Carolina at SkillsUSA Nationals!
